Hello, I am Shuying.
In this blog, I seek to answer questions like:
- Who am I, really?
- How do I become more myself?
- How do I express my truth?
- How do I fulfil my potential?
My writing here is a distillation of my lessons learned along the path of truth and self-discovery.
I am in no way an authority; I am simply a wayfarer recording and communicating lessons as they become clear to me. The ideas presented are up to you evaluate, verify, and apply as you see fit.
My story
In 2013, I was an investment banker in New York City, living the high life. I had a nice apartment in Manhattan, ate at nice restaurants, and went on nice holidays. But I knew something was missing.
I read every motivational article or book I could get my hands on. The advice seemed to make sense, but I had no idea how to apply them in my life. I was desperate for answers.
I finally got desperate enough, so I quit my job in banking, and went to Cambodia to find myself.
I lived and volunteered in Cambodia for 6 months. Changing continents gave me an adrenaline high for a while, but still the question remained – what should I do with my life?
I realised I didn’t need generic advice, I needed my own paradigm shift. I didn’t need ready answers, I needed something that worked for me. The truth was that I didn’t even know who I was. And I needed to figure that out for myself, otherwise nothing I did would ever be meaningful for me.
That’s when I started my inward journey, guided by coaching and transformational work. I finally found my answers, and my life changed. Today I have reached a state of inner integrity, strength and confidence I had never thought possible. I have found an expression that brings me fulfilment and joy. The dreams I secretly dreamed have come true in unexpected ways.
Discovering truth and seeking wholeness continue to be my raison d’être.
Your story
You have your own motivations and challenges too. Real fulfilment in your life can only come after you’ve figured out who you are – your inspirations, your desires, your fears, your truth. That’s an inward journey, not an external one.
The inward journey begins when you can be really honest with yourself. When you have the courage to admit to yourself something’s missing, and allow yourself the vulnerability to seek for deeper answers to life’s big questions.
Living an authentic life means daring to feel your emotions. It means embracing uncertainty. It means letting go of what no longer serves you. It means reclaiming your own power and finding your truth. It means living according to your values and expressing who you truly are.
If you’re ready to embark on this rewarding journey, this site will be your companion.
